Rep. Bartlett Tech Fair (November 16, 2001)

Hagerstown Community College, Maryland
November 16, 2001

SMART and Congressman Roscoe Bartlett are hosting a "Tech Fair" at Hagerstown Community College on November 16 from 9:30 - 11:30 am. The purpose of this fair is to provide a venue for high technology companies, academia and government agencies located in or near Maryland's 6th Congressional District to network and display their products and services.

This networking event will include 25 exhibit tables. The cost is $25 to host a table. General admission is free.

HUBS Education Portal Launched!

Conestoga High School, PA
October 10, 2001

U.S. Secretary of Education Rod Paige was the guest of honor on October 10 at the public launch of the HUBS Education Portal. Educators, administrators and students from Conestoga High School, Villa Maria Lower Academy, and Norristown School District demonstrated how they use the portal and other HUBS technologies to create an improved learning environment and access additional educational resources. Congressmen Curt Weldon (R-PA) and Joe Hoeffel (D-PA) participated from Washington, DC, via video-conference to demonstrate their support of HUBS education initiatives and their commitment to improving education.

TechTrends 2001: Profiting through Technology Partnerships

TechTrends 2001 provided an opportunity for regional businesses to discuss federal technology R&D initiatives and preview cutting-edge technology. The TechTrends 2001 conference - "Profiting Through Technology Partnerships" - was presented by Congressional delegations from Delaware, New Jersey, Maryland and Pennsylvania along with sponsors including Lockheed Martin, The Boeing Company, American Competitiveness Institute, SAIC, and Rutgers University.

HUBS participants shared progress on HUBS initiatives and demonstrated the HUBS Education Portal and Enterprise Collaboration Portal. See HUBS Connection April-May Issue for More Details
